Welcome to the New and Improved Library!

It’s OK to admit it… you haven’t committed our open hours to memory. You find yourself slowly driving by, squinting at the little sign with the hours on it, or simply scanning for familiar cars. Well, fret no longer, because now you can tell at a glance when we’re open for business!

When you see the new OPEN flag, why not come and in take a look? We’ve got a new circulation desk, a new periodical rack, a new computer table, and 8 new library chairs. The newspapers and magazines now face the fireplace, which is flanked by two comfortable armchairs, creating a nice cozy spot for sitting and reading. The computer desk has 2 public computers, one brand new and one newly updated, both with wireless keyboards. We’ve upgraded our wi-fi router (SSID = Langdon Library), too.

If you haven’t been here in a while, you’ll notice a lot of things have changed.  But although change is inevitable, some things still stay the same. The big table still has the puzzle going (after a rough start, it’s really coming together fast) and of course, your friendly staff is still the same.  So from Scott, Mary, and Debbie, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Changes are afoot! Library closed Weds. and Thurs. this week

Drive up to the library and you will immediately notice a big difference… The trees are gone! It’s unfortunate, but both Norway Spruces were rotten on the inside and had to come down. Mother Nature took care of one, and we took the other before it could do any damage. See our Flickr photostream for pics.

Then when you come inside again on Friday, you’ll notice an all-new look, featuring a new main circulation desk, new magazine and newspaper racks, and a new computer table. Not to mention new computers! These upgrades are long overdue and we hope they will add to your enjoyment of the library for many years to come.

So come down soon and we’ll re-introduce you to your library!
