2010: Another Banner Year

I was recently doing some year-end statistics and came to this conclusion: It was another banner year for Langdon Public Library!  Last year we served 8,030 patrons! That’s a 10% increase over last year, which itself was a 10% increase over the previous year. See:

patroncountThat’s remarkable, given our town population is under 1000 and not growing. This works out to us serving 30 patrons each day we’re open!  Considering our small building footprint, limited hours, and no full-time staff, you might say we’re doing a lot with a little.  Here are some other stats you may find interesting:

Total circulation of items checked out, checked in, and renewed for the year = 20,164

Total interlibrary loan requests processed = 522

Top circulating book for the year = The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (15)

Top circulating DVD for the year = Avatar (39)

We’re already off to a flying start in 2011, too… Come on down and see what’s new!
