Library/ Programming Assistant, Langdon Public Library, Newington NH
This full time (35 hours/ week) position works with the library director to coordinate, plan and publicize library programs and activities for all ages in the Newington community, with special focus on youth services including events, outreach, collection management, and reader’s advisory. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, families and teens, have a strong interest in juvenile and YA literature, be an organized, efficient worker and team player, and adept at multi-tasking.
Salary Range: $16.50 – $18.50 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree and library experience preferred, or any combination of experience and training which provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Schedule: Some evenings, and every other Saturday.
Responsibilities: This individual is responsible for programming, collection development and publicity, especially programming for children and families, including story times, summer reading programs and special events. Other duties include assisting the director with adult programs; staffing the circulation desk; instructing patrons needing help on library computers; readers’ advisory; providing reference and technology help as needed.
