Celebrate National Library Week at Langdon Public Library!
From the American Library Association website:
National Library Week (April 7-13, 2019) is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources for families to library business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all. The theme for 2019 National Library Week is “Libraries = Strong Communities,” and Gates Foundation Co-founder Melinda Gates will serve as 2019 National Library Week Honorary Chair.
Langdon Public Library will be offering a series of activities throughout the week to celebrate. Each day of the week, we will feature a library-themed trivia question at the circulation desk.
Please stay tuned to this page for updates.
We want to meet all our young Newington readers! Drop in to the library and share the name of a book you love with us and and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a book prize at the end of the week.
Pose for a photo with your book and receive a super-cool orange-scented bookmark. Photos will be featured on our library Facebook page.
Come to the children’s room anytime during the week and write a letter or draw a picture of why you love the library! Cards will be displayed in the library for all to admire.
Come in and tell us about a book you’ve read recently that made you think, made you laugh, made you cry – a book that moved you! For each book you share with us, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of our beautiful Langdon Library tote bags, featuring a photo from Newington photographer Debbra Obertanec.
